The wonderfully imaginative Moominvalley is filled with the Moomin characters created by Tove Jansson, who was an artist and writer from Finland. Nine books, four picture books and a comic strip were released between 1945 and 1975 (published in Swedish). There have also been various cartoons and animated tv series based on the original comics and illustration. Moomintroll, Snorkmaiden, Moominmamma, Moominpappa, Snufkin, Little My and others are some of the most memorable characters ever created and all feature in the stories. The Moomins have become a global success and have theme parks in both Finland and Japan. The Moomins stories have been translated into 60 languages. 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of Tove Jansson’s great creation, so celebrate with all your favourite Moomins that feature on these designs.
